Amy Jones used to spend a small fortune on candles from the major label box candle shops. But with kids and pets, Amy wanted to make sure my house smelled good! While pregnant with her second daughter, she began to read about all the harmful ingredients in some of her favorite candle brands - the carcinogens in the dyes used to color the candles, the lead and zinc in the wicks, the toxins in the fragrance oils used for scent. Amy knew there had to be a way she could create a more environmentally friendly and health conscious product without sacrificing the scents she loved. So, she began experimenting - mixing pure essential oils with pthalate free fragrance oils, testing pour temperatures, determining which lead free wicks burned the cleanest and which scents blended best together. She quickly realized that there were many other people also looking for cleaner, healthier candle options for their homes. And thus, Simply Scented Candles was born! 5 years later (with another baby soon to arrive) she is proud to still be creating a product that she’s excited to enjoy in my own home and can share with others!
